‘Leaked’ National Trust ad – ballsy new campaign or student spoof? Either way, it’s pretty damn funny! by @Jess_Champion

I’m a bit late to the party on this one but watching the video made me laugh just as much today as it did when I first spotted it a couple of weeks back.

What you’ve just witnessed claims to be a leaked advert for The National Trust.

However, all is not what it seems.

“We didn’t make the video, but we do hope people enjoy watching it and are encouraged to visit our places after watching it” said a National Trust spokesperson.

Of course, the more cynical among us may still view this as a solid play by the PR folks over at the National trust.

But, as a comment on this piece by The Drum points out, it seems likely that the video is, in fact, an entry for the D&AD New Blood Awards – a competition for aspiring young creatives.

Wherever the video comes from, I imagine the press team over at the National Trust are enjoying the resulting coverage; which has so far included the likes of the Telegraph and Buzzfeed.

I actually think the brand could have done more with the video. I couldn’t find any reference to it on their website or social media accounts.
